Title: $1,000,000 Bail Set on Winters Man
On April 21, 2017 at approximately 11:02 am, Winters Police Department officers were called to the St. Anthony Parish located at 511 Main St. in Winters regarding an intoxicated male causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.
Officers contacted Bernardo Ibarra in the vicinity. Ibarra is a 28-year-old transient associated with the Winters area and known to the Winters Police Department. Ibarra became uncooperative with officers and was placed under arrest for being intoxicated in public. As officers were placing Ibarra in their vehicle, Ibarra became combative, threatening officers, spitting, and then banging his head on the interior of the vehicle while yelling the officers were “beating” him. It should be noted the incident was captured on the officers’ body worn cameras. Additionally, while en route to the Yolo County Jail after receiving medical clearance, Ibarra began kicking the doors and security screen of the patrol vehicle causing significant damage to the interior of the vehicle.
Ibarra was booked at Yolo County Jail for being intoxicated in public, resisting an officer by threats and/or violence, and vandalism. Ibarra also has a pending a case for making terrorist threats in Winters in November 2016. Due to his actions during this incident, the pending case, and his prior criminal history, Ibarra is being held at Yolo County Jail with bail set at $1,000,000.
