Title: Injury Traffic Collision
On April 4, 2017 at approximately 1:40 PM, Winters Police Department, Winters Fire Department, and AMR ambulance were dispatched to an injury collision on Grant Ave. east of Main St.
Investigating officers determined the driver of a Ford F-150, a 68-year-old Winters resident, apparently fell asleep while he was driving eastbound on Grant Ave. at an unknown speed. The Ford drifted into oncoming westbound traffic, sideswiping a California Department of Fish and Wildlife boat trailer being towed, and then struck head-on a Triumph motorcycle being driven by a 33-year-old Davis resident.
The motorcyclist was alert and conscious on-scene and transported by AMR to Kaiser Vacaville with reported non-life threatening injuries, including possible broken bones in his arms.
Intoxication was not a contributing factor to this collision; however, the driver of the Ford was submitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles for an emergency reevaluation of his driving status.
