Title: Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales Arrest and Conviction, #16-482
On 7/19/16 at approximately 2:23 PM, officers of the Winters Police Department contacted Winters resident Chantel Riley, 38, at a residence in the 1000 blk. of Adams Ln. Suspicious and
nuisance activity at this residence had been reported on multiple occasions by neighbors.
Officers recognized Riley and knew she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest and was on active probation with a search clause for a previous possession of methamphetamine for sales
conviction. Riley was arrested for the warrant and a search of her living space at the residence located approximately six grams of methamphetamine, three oxycodone pills, seven methamphetamine pipes, packaging material, a digital scale, and two cellular phones.
Riley was booked at Yolo County Jail for the outstanding warrant and for new charge of possession of methamphetamine for sales. Riley subsequently pled guilty and on 9/27/16 was sentenced to two years in local prison, spending 120 days in and 367 days on mandatory supervision.
This case was a great example of our community sharing their concerns with the Winters Police Department, our officers’ knowledge of their community, and our officers’ efforts to keep
Winters a safe city. The Winters Police Department asks members of our community to be aware and to please report suspicious activity.
