Title: Vacaville Police Department pursuit ends in Winters
On June 16, 2017 at approximately 12:02 am, the Vacaville Police Department notified the Winters Police Department of a vehicle pursuit near the Winters City limits. According to Vacaville Officers, the vehicle occupants had been involved in an armed robbery which took place in Vacaville.
The suspect vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Baker Street and Third Street. Four occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene. Vacaville Police Officers, Yolo County Sheriff Deputies, California Highway Patrol Officers, and Winters Police Officers worked together to secure the scene and collect evidence.
All four suspects were taken into custody by the Vacaville Police Department. One of the suspects was apprehended with the use of a police canine. Winters Fire Department personnel responded to treat the dog bite injury.
A variety of specialized equipment (including vehicles, helicopter, and a canine) were used in the apprehension of the suspects in addition to agencies from two counties. By working collaboratively with our law enforcement partners Police Departments are able to improve public safety for all of our residents.
