Behind The Badge, Who We Are: Officer Shadman
Officer Kyle Shadman was born in Southern California and moved to the Sacramento area very early in life. He attended high school in Roseville where he played football and had a strong interest in auto shop.
Upon graduating from high school, Officer Shadman attended WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming and studied diesel technology and worked as a transport refrigeration mechanic for over seven years.
In 2015, Officer Shadman and his wife opened a care home for developmentally disabled adults. The Shadman family worked hard to build a business that served the needs of individuals who lived within the home. The Shadman family then opened a second home in 2017 to help individuals who need more assistance and who are on the autism spectrum.
In 2018, officer Shadman made the decision to pursue a career in law enforcement. Officer Shadman graduated from the San Joaquin Delta College POST Academy in March of 2020. During his time at the academy Officer Shadman was elected class treasurer and was awarded the True Grit Award by the Recruit Training Officers. He also started working on his bachelor’s degree at Humphreys University.
Officer Shadman and his wife have been married for six and a half years and have two young sons. Officer Shadman enjoys spending time with his family, traveling to Boston and Disneyland, wakeboarding, and CrossFit. The Shadman’s are avid Red Sox fans and look forward to planning a return to trip to Boston.
Officer Shadman hopes to bring his experience in working with developmentally disabled adults and those who suffer from mental illnesses to his job here in Winters to help make a difference in the community.
