The Records Division is open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, excluding weekends and holidays.

Payment for fees and services may be made by cash, check or credit card.

Copy of Records

Copies of police reports are available from the Police Department per the terms of the California Public Records Act 7920.000 and Section 7923.605 of the California Government Code. Copies of reports must be obtained (with photo ID) during Winters Police Department business office hours.

Please be advised that not all police reports are available for immediate release and may have information relating to identity or active investigations redacted. Please note copies of court disposition for arrest reports must be obtained from the Yolo County District Attorney's Office. Copy of a Crime Report/Traffic Collision/non-crime report (up to 10 pages) $45 (Beyond 10 pages +$4)

*FC 6228. (a) State and local law enforcement agencies shall provide, upon request and without charging a fee, one copy of all incident report face sheets, one copy of all incident reports, or both, to a victim, or his or her representative as defined in subdivision (g), of a crime that constitutes an act of any of the following:(1) Domestic violence, as defined in Section 6211.

(2) Sexual assault, as defined in Sections 261, 261.5, 262, 265, 266, 266a, 266b, 266c, 266g, 266j, 267, 269, 273.4, 285, 286, 288, 288a, 288.5, 289, or 311.4 of the Penal Code.
